Thanks to everyone who attended for making the first ever DevOps conference in Israel a huge success!

We were wholly unprepared for the amazing turnout, and the warm reception by the incredible DevOps community in Israel.

You can find the event presentations here, as well as the pictures, feedback and after buzz of the event here.

A big thank you to special guest speaker Ben Kepes of Diversity.Net, who came all the way out from New Zealand to take part in the event.

See more about Ben's participation here, and view his presentation.

DevOps Con - Behind the Scenes

A blog post by Nati Shalom

I'm happy to announce the first DevOps conference in Israel that will take place on the 28th of January.

In this post I wanted to share with you a bit of the stories behind the scene on how it all started.

How it all started - The story behind the scenes

For those who are not familiar with the topic of DevOps, it can basically be categorized as a movement more than a technology per se. As with any movement, it comes with a disruptive message that aims to change many of the existing dogmas for how to run Development and IT, in order to improve agility and shorten time to market for launching new features and products. Cloud is not directly related to DevOps, but was a major accelerator, since with Cloud we’re no longer dependent on our IT to do the basic stuff such as setting up machines and networks. Which presented the opportunity to think about doing things differently, and finally break the wall between Development and Operations...

Notes from DevOpsCon Israel, Nati Shalom

The first DevOps conference in Israel turned out to be a great success.

With a room filled to capacity, and even people sitting on the floor just to take part - the energy level just hit the roof.

A great testimony to that is the number of comments on the Meetup page and tweets in the #devopscon twitter thread.

DevOps Conference Israel take-aways, Shahar Kedar

Yesterday Eyal Efroni (aka – Shmeff) and myself participated in the first DevOps conference in Israel. The event, sponsored by Microsoft, GigaSpaces, Wix and others, perfectly organized by Sharone Ziteman (@shar1z), and led by Nati Shalom (@natishalom), Uri Cohen (@uri1803) and Ran Tavory (@rantav), was really a great experience for us.

First and foremost, it was a great opportunity to meet people who are as passionate as we are about DevOps. Most of the presentations were very interesting and insightful, but the crown jewel was the after-party at Mike’s Place which was a great opportunity to get to know people more personally.

DevOpsCon 2013, Maish Saidel-Keesing

Today I attended the DevOpsCon 2013 in Hertzliya, Israel. As you can see from the agenda there was an abundance of great sessions and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

This was not like most of the one-day seminars I usually go to – it was focused 100% on DevOps – and virtualization was just a (very small) by-product – seeing that it was only the underlying infrastructure.

Impressions from DevOps Con 2013, Sharone Revah Zitzman

I had the honor to be a part of an incredible initiative that came to its culmination yesterday - the first ever DevOps conference in Israel, organized together with the brilliant Nati Shalom, Uri Cohen, Ran Tavory, and Avner Algom.

Nati Shalom, summarizes quite nicely everything that went into making DevOps Con possible, but following the actual event itself I would like to just present some of the highlights and takeaways, as I see them.
